The challenge: a small shop, formerly an ice-cream parlour in Seefeld in Tyrol, becomes a bar with osteria on a tight budget. The client’s idea of “feasting and indulging like in Italy” comes to life through subtle, highly effective interventions.
Bar vs. restaurant
Bar and restaurant are visually separated without dividing them functionally; strong contrasts between light and dark areas are key.
Zoning
By the glass façade there are niches for a short stay; the quick coffee in between is taken at the bar, just like in Italy. The atmosphere is relaxed and elegant at once.
